Despite the freezing temperatures last, over 15 hardy young people attended free athletic training days held at the Catford athletics track. The sessions were hosted by local organisation S-Factor. S-factor hold regular training sessions for young people from Lewisham specialising in track athletics. Hyde Plus paid for taster sessions to encourage interested and talented young people to sign up to S-Factor’s sessions held most Saturdays at the Catford athletics track.
Like most athletics clubs this time of year S Factor have recently been celebrating the achievements of its athletes, members and volunteers but not all club’s can enjoy the splendor of City Hall and beautiful lights on show along the river banks of the Thames. As the year draws to an end, I’d like to reflect on the academy’s achievements of the last 12 months. There have been some great highlights this year on and off the track.
