S-FACTOR ACADEMY RESHUFFLES FOR 2020
S-Factor Academy was formed back in 2010 by former-GB athlete and local resident Lisa Miller to meet the demand for a local, grassroots athletics club that could cater to all ages (7yrs +) and abilities. Over the past 10 years we have formed great partnerships and nurtured some incredible talent.
As we approach our 10-year anniversary, there are some key changes taking place within the club’s volunteer structure to acknowledge this next phase in the club’s journey. We have adjusted certain roles and redirected support into nurturing key areas within the club (new team: http://sfactoracademy.co.uk/the-team/).
Importantly, this reshuffle sees a newly constituted management committee, consisting of:
Chair – Stephanie Hanson
Club Manager – Johnathan Regis
Committee Member – Lorna Griffiths
Head Coach – Mensah Elliott
Club Secretary – Jennifer Campbell
Treasurer – Guglielmo Volpe
Welfare Officer – Monica Drummond
On the ground, there will also be a number of new hires, including three much needed additional coaches, who will be introduced over the coming weeks.
Welcome Back – Johnathan Regis, Club Manager!
He couldn’t stay away! … After his impressive stint as Head Coach, we are pleased to announce that Johnathan will be returning to the S-Factor family as our Club Manager! In his new role Johnathan will be pivotal in driving the club forwards and overseeing our roadmap for growth in 2020 and beyond. He will be the club’s primary facilitator in meeting our objectives, and the main external contact and club ambassador cultivating our existing relationships with England Athletics, local schools and other stakeholders.
With our reinforced leadership team, hardworking volunteers and more exciting developments ahead, S-Factor Academy is on track for an incredible year ahead! Watch this space …

Statement from Lisa Miller, Club Founder and NED
“Leading into our 10th year anniversary, I’m delighted that Johnathan has been appointed Club Manager!
He has been Head Coach for the past three years and under his leadership, we saw a positive shift in the club, which included a spike in female participation and our inclusive group.
Having such great success as Head Coach, it was a natural progression for Johnathan to fill this role. He has previous experience as an international athlete and coach – more importantly, he is a visionary and shares the same values amongst the wider team.
I am excited to watch him take the club to another level with the support of our strong committee, amazing, loyal and committed coaches and volunteers!”
Statement from Johnathan Regis, Club Manager
“I am delighted to be coming back to S-Factor Academy in my role as Club Manager. As some of you may know I stepped down from my role as Head Coach last year due to personal reasons however I always stated I would be back. I did not think so soon but nonetheless I am ecstatic to be back now!
I aim to continue my good work in increasing participation in all groups for all abilities which will then increase the performance levels amongst the athletes. Education has always been at the core of the academy so in the coming months we will be looking to partner with ARCO Academy to make sure our academic standards are maintained.
There will be some change in the structure and systems of S-Factor and these will be things I will work on with the help of the committee and volunteers.
Once again, I’m so excited to be back and successfully getting this role. Let’s continue the great work that’s been done to make us the best!!!”
