Wow! Despite the miserable weather, Saturday 12th May was an incredible day of athletic competition for our seniors who competed in the Kent Championships and Surrey Championships. It was a day of personal best and new club records.
At the Kent Championships in Ashford GEORGE MUANA won silver (50s30) and KIMANI SMART won bronze (50s35) in the Senior Men’s 400m!
DAEJUAN MADAZA broke the club record and also achieved a PB with 51s42 in the U20 Men’s 400m and ROBIN HALLETT gave a champion’s performance with another PB of 2m36.42 in the U15 800, narrowly missing out on the final! She also broke the club record by a whopping 12 seconds!!!
Meanwhile in the Weir Archer Stadium in Kingston, Surrey, SONNY BREEZE and SAM LONG ran remarkable PBs at 2m29.8secs and 2m32.7secs respectively.
We are extremely proud of our athletes and the effort they all put in today. Let’s congratulate them for their achievements – SAM is competing again on Sunday 13th, STEFANO BERTERO will be joining him, wish them luck!!
