S-Factor Academy is appealing for your support for our senior coach Mensah Elliot, an international Masters Athlete who is currently ranked No.1 in the World for the 60mH and 110mH, in the M35 and M40 categories respectively.

In between volunteering his time coaching and mentoring our young athletes, Mensah is training towards his own goal of becoming the World Champion in Masters Athletics. Masters Athletics is a class of the sport of athletics for veteran athletes in the events of track and field, road running and cross country running. The competitions feature five-year age groups beginning at age 35.

Unfortunately there is very little funding or sponsorship available for Masters Athletes. No funding is provided by the Government or UK Governing Body for Masters Athletes to assist with travelling to and competing in Masters Championships and there is no prize money on offer for winners unlike in mainstream athletics. Many Masters Athletes are therefore self-funded or reliant on private sponsorship or donations.

Mensah is hoping to compete at the World Masters (Daegu, South Korea) in March as well as the European Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships, to be held in Aarhus, Denmark in July 2017 as his main targets, however, he would love to do as many as possible.

More generally Mensah has been trying to raise the profile of Masters Athletics for some time. By supporting him you will not only help him raise the profile of Masters Athletics but in parallel we can shine the spotlight on S-Factor Academy!

Please read more of his story and donate whatever you can to support him here (and then spread the word!): https://makeachamp.com/risewithme
