30th June 2016 – The Sporteducate Programme, a partnership between leading sports charity Sported, Deutsche Bank and 33 sports clubs in London, of which S-Factor Academy is one, has won three awards at the Corporate Engagement Awards and National CSR Awards recently.

The awards won were:

  • Gold for the “Best Sports and Leisure Programme” in the “type” category of the Corporate Engagement Awards
  • Bronze for the “Best Community Involvement During a CSR Programme” in the “corporate social responsibility” category of the Corporate Engagement Awards
  • Highly Commended for the “Best Partnership in the Community” in the corporate social responsibility category of the National CSR Awards

Ben Sadler, Sporteducate Programme Manager, whom accepted the awards on the 12th May and 21st June respectively, said: “Since 2014, 33 clubs across London have worked in partnership with Sported and Deutsche Bank to deliver effective education and employability programmes alongside their sports offering. It is fantastic to see the clubs and the programme recognised for their innovation and enthusiasm in creating and delivering this unique programme. The awards prove the value and impact that clubs like S-Factor Academy are having in their community.”

The Sporteducate Programme was chosen because of its clear strategy to support young people, increased access to sport, and impressive innovative and successful community development schemes, which influence communities, clubs and young people who participate on a regular basis in a positive way.

It was also recognised for the vast range of volunteer opportunities on offer from clubs that led to community based benefits and the engagement of young people.

S-Factor Academy is one of a network of 33 clubs that adds education and/or employability elements to its sports offering to support the development of young people.

Stephanie Hanson, Chair of S-Factor Academy, said: “We are proud to be part of the Sporteducate Programme. It is extremely heart warming to see the Programme win these awards, and to know that these awards recognise all the coaches and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the positive engagement of young people a reality”.

The Corporate Engagement Awards held on the 21st June recognises the most successful and innovative corporate partnerships and sponsorships, and the communication strategies around those collaborations.

The National CSR Awards held on the 12th May celebrates business excellence and innovation in Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) across a broad range of disciplines including sustainability, carbon footprinting, community development, staff development, staff welfare, and education and leadership.
